Customer questions & answers
Question: Why do old LEGO® Minifigures have yellow heads?
Answer: When the LEGO® company first created its Minifigure in 1975, it wanted it to be racially neutral. They chose yellow to be as neutral as possible. The skin colors of the LEGO® Minifigure changed from yellow to a more realistic skin color in 2004 when it was decided that the popular characters that the Minifigures represent should more closely resemble the original skin tone of the character.
