LEGO® Technic Gears & Gear Elements

Shop LEGO® Technic gears for drivetrain builds, gear trains, gearboxes and functional mechanisms. Use the right gear combination to change speed, increase torque and redirect rotation in compact Technic assemblies.

What Technic Gears Do

  • Transmit motion: Move power from motors or hand-driven inputs through your build.
  • Adjust speed and torque: Gear ratios let you trade speed for power (and vice versa).
  • Change rotation direction: Use bevel and worm setups to alter the axis or reverse movement.
  • Enable mechanisms: Common in steering, differentials, winches, cranes and multi-stage gearboxes.

Types of LEGO® Technic Gears

  • Spur gears: Standard gears for parallel shafts and general ratio changes.
  • Bevel gears: Transfer rotation between angled shafts (often 90°).
  • Worm gears: High reduction and compact drives; useful when back-driving needs to be limited.
  • Rack gears: Convert rotation into linear movement for steering racks and sliders.

These parts are built for reliable meshing and smooth rotation in demanding LEGO® Technic builds.
