Vex is the Formling who could not transform himself into an animal. When people mocked him, he swore he would take revenge. When he found Zane, who was cast into the never-realm by Aspheera, he made him lose his memory and made him into the Ice Emperor. He then subtly controlled the Ice Emperor.
