LEGO® Creator 3 in 1 Space Exploration Telescope (31378) brings light and astronomy into a 278-piece building project for ages 8 and up. Unlike many purely decorative Creator models, all three alternatives use the included light brick to reveal a different visual effect.
Project the Moon, a star or a planet
The telescope stands on an adjustable tripod and is paired with a small model of the Sun and eight planets that can be rotated. Select one of three decorated lenses depicting a planet, star or the Moon, then press the light-brick button to project an image onto a surface. Batteries for the light brick are included.
Switch to an illuminated microscope or UFO
Rebuild the same pieces into a microscope with adjustable parts and an illuminated viewing image, or a UFO with posable antennae, flip-out landing legs and a light shining beneath it. The telescope rises to approximately 27 cm at its highest point. Only one of the three STEM-inspired models can be assembled at a time.
The light brick and interchangeable lenses are the distinctive parts of this kit. The illumination works with the model you've built, rather than with all three versions at once.
